So far I've only had two comments on the forum's design, both negative.
But nobody will say what they hate about it. Color scheme? Layout? Interface?
I want to fix whatever is bothering you, but it needs to be articulated.
Speak to the point.

Now that I've registered I see more opinons than I did innitially. That may be keeping people from registering, because they don't know about the choices they have in terms of changing the colors and whatnot. The layout is definatly a lot better when using the without frames option. Personally I still find it hard to browse for threads I'll find interesting though, paritally because you can't see the whole title of the thread easily. It's not as easy to insert links or pictures without knowning HTML as it is on other forums. It isn't clear what the beehive collective/forum project is or why you link to it. Those are the things that frustrated me about the forum. People may just need time to get used to the format of the forum though.

I plan to make a "How To Use This Forum" thread, which I hope will flatten the learning curve and help people discover how much better Beehive is than phpBB, yaBB, Invision, Ikonboard and the billion other lookalike forums.
Beehive is the software that runs this forum, which is surprisingly simple to install and run, yet incredibly flexible. Downside to "flexible" is that many of the variables don't have buttons or dials to adjust them (hence the gap between the skinny ROC-SKA and Beehive buttons on top and the menu bar.)
Once I figure out how to tweak the layout dimensions, I should be able to change the width of the thread-title frame; that bugs me, too.
Links are actually easier in Beehive - highlight the text you want to link, press the link button -
and paste the site address into the dialogue box that comes up. Images, click the image button -
- paste in the address. Done.
(plus, people actually reply to posts, instead of the whole thread. Missing a bit of context? click the link in the upper right corner of the post, see what it's a reply to. Don't have time to track every conversation? Enable the forum to email you when someone replies to your posts.)
I wanted software with HTML support 'cause as a promoter, I post event listings in multiple places. HTML for myspace. HTML for upcoming.org. HTML for my blog. HTML for my site.
Then I have to convert it to BBCode to post on a phpBB forum, and there are fewer format options. Very annoying.

Fixed the thread-title frame. Problem was that several thread titles started with one long string of characters, which fudged up the word wrap.
Now the thread titles should fit cleanly in the frame. Plus, you can widen or crunch the frame by dragging the edge of the frame bar with the mouse.
Thanks for the feedback. If you could stop by the Introduction thread and introduce yourself, that'd be great.
